Riverthon℠ is a series of three paddlesport racing events that take place on the mighty Ohio River within the greater Louisville, KY area.
Our signature event is the Louisville 50 Race, a 50 mile race from Westport to West Point, KY. is on June 24, 2017 (Delay date: June 25, 2017)
The Mayor’s Cup and the Ohio River Dash are both on Sept. 16, 2017. (Delay Date: Sept. 17, 2017)
Enter the Mayor’s Cup Race and be the first male and female solo paddler to cross the finish line and have your name engraved on the Louisville Mayor’s Cup trophy. The trophy is displayed in the Mayor’s office year round. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place paddlers in all boat divisions. The Mayor’s Cup is a 15 mile race that starts on Louisville’s Waterfront and paddles up stream to Harrods Creek (Captain’s Quarters) and back for a total of 15 miles.
The Ohio River Dash is an river race paddling 5 miles downstream on the Ohio River.
The River City Sprint is a new 1.6 mile race that circumnavigates Tow Head Island.
Each of these are a fun, challenging, and unique way to connect with the water, fellow paddlers, and experience both the rural beauty of the Ohio River Valley and the Louisville area urban landscapes and architecture along the way.
